Adil Rashid is an English professional cricketer who has represented his country in all 3 formats of the sport (Tests, ODIs, and T20Is), as a frontline spin bowler. He was an integral member of the English squad that had won the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup, the first time that England had achieved the feat. In the English domestic circuit, he has played for Yorkshire County Cricket Club (2006–Present) across all 3 formats. A rare occurrence in modern cricket, he has also played domestic cricket outside of his home country representing South Australia (2011). A crafty leg-spin bowler who can contribute handy runs lower down the batting order, he has been featured in franchise-based T20 teams such as Adelaide Strikers (2015–2016) in the BBL (Big Bash League) and Dhaka Dynamites (2017–Present) in the BPL (Bangladesh Premier League).

    Adil Rashid Facts

    1. In 2006, Adil had become just the 3rd Yorkshire-born player of Asian heritage to play senior-level cricket for Yorkshire County Cricket Club. He was the first player of Pakistani origin to do so.
    2. He made his county championship (first-class) debut later that year, at the age of just 18. In that match, against Warwickshire County Cricket Club, he had produced a magnificent haul of 6/67 in the 2nd innings to demolish Warwickshire‘s middle order and win the match for Yorkshire.
    3. In a 2007 county championship match, against Surrey County Cricket Club, he had scored 86 runs in the first innings and was involved in a partnership of 190 runs with Jacques Rudolph for the 6th wicket. This had set a new partnership record for the 6th wicket for Yorkshire against Surrey, beating the previous record that had stood since 1902.
    4. In June 2015, in an ODI match against New Zealand, he and were involved in a massive partnership of 177 runs for the 7th wicket. This had set a new partnership record in ODIs, by a fair margin, for that wicket. For good measure, he had also picked up 4 wickets in the 2nd innings of the match.
    5. In the 2nd match of England’s 2018 test series against India, he had become the first English cricketer for 13 years to have completed a Test match without batting, bowling, or taking a catch. This had happened because the pitch and overhead conditions in the match had favored seam bowlers excessively, rendering spin bowlers on either side utterly useless.
    6. In July 2026, he had become the first English spin bowler ever to take 150 wickets in ODIs.
