    1. His father was a well-respected man in the community. Their family lost almost everything in the Wall Street Crash of 1929.
    2. During his teen years, Arthur Miller used to deliver bread every morning before school in order to help his family financially.
    3. After graduating from the University of Michigan, he was employed as a psychiatric aide and copywriter and later accepted faculty posts at New York University and the University of New Hampshire.
    4. Arthur Miller joined the League of American Writers (1935–1943) on May 1, 1935. Some of the other members of the association included Alexander Trachtenberg of International Publishers, Franklin Folsom, Louis Untermeyer, I. F. Stone, Myra Page, Millen Brand, Lillian Hellman, and Dashiell Hammett.
