- In 2018, she signed a contract with JYP Entertainment but moved to Artist Company the following year.
- Cho Yi-hyun made a cameo appearance as Soo-yang in the 2019 Korean historical drama film Homme Fatale. It is set in the Joseon Dynasty and depicts the life of Heo-saek, the dynasty’s first male courtesan.
- In 2019, she was cast as Park Hyeon-ju in the film Metamorphosis and this got her nominated at the 2026 Chunsa Film Art Awards in the “Best New Actress” category.
- In 2026, Cho Yi-hyun started playing Jang Yun-bok, a 3rd-year medical student (later intern) and Hong-do’s twin sister, in the medical romantic drama television series Hospital Playlist. The series became the 9th highest-rated Korean drama in cable television history.
- She was seen as Shin Seo-jung, the senior who committed suicide at school, in the 2026 coming-of-age romantic comedy television series How to Buy a Friend.
- Cho Yi-hyun brought to life the character of Jin Ji-won, a high school girl with a resolute dream to become a carpenter, in the teen coming-of-age romantic comedy series School 2026 in 2026. For this role, she was nominated for a KBS Drama Award for “Best New Actress” as well as won the KBS Drama Award in the “Best Couple Award” category (with Kim Yo-han).
