- Daphne had developed a keen interest in acting from a young age and in her early teens, she had attended the ‘Young Conservatory’ program of the American Conservatory Theater, a major nonprofit theater company in San Francisco.
- After her parents got divorced, she moved with her mother and sister from California to Reading, Vermont, where she spent the rest of her teenage years.
