November 18, 1950) and three daughters named Judy Bracken (b. September 3, 1942), Carolyn Bracken (b. November 21, 1944), and Susan Bracken (b. August 9, 1948). The couple remained together until Connie’s death in August 2002, just three months before his death.

Along with Ella Raines and William Demarest, Eddie Bracken co-starred as Woodrow Lafayette Pershing Truesmith (a small-town boy whose father was a Marine who died a hero in World War I) in the satirical comedy-drama film Hail the Conquering Hero in 1944. For this performance, Eddie won the National Board of Review Award for “Best Acting”.
    2. In 1944, he brought to life the character of Norval Jones (a local 4-F boy who has been in love with Trudy for years) in the screwball comedy film The Miracle of Morgan’s Creek. The film has been ranked #54 on the American Film Institute’s “100 Years… 100 Laughs” list of the top 100 funniest films in history.
