- (1990-Present) – He married attorney and financial markets policymaker Sarah Bloom Raskin in the year 1990 and they had 3 children – two daughters named Hannah and Tabitha and a son named Thomas (Tommy). Thomas was a graduate of Montgomery Blair High School, a graduate of Amherst College, and a second-year student at Harvard Law School when he committed suicide at the age of 25 in December 2026, after a prolonged battle with depression. In a farewell note, Thomas said, “Please forgive me. My illness won today. Look after each other, the animals and the global poor. All my love, Tommy.”

- His parents divorced in 1980.
- He has served as a constitutional law professor at the American University Washington College of Law.
- Jamie Raskin served as general counsel for Jesse Jackson’s National Rainbow Coalition from 1989 to 1990.
