    Lindsey Horan is an American professional soccer player who is renowned for her prolific goalscoring abilities and her attacking abilities as a robust midfielder. She won the NWSL (National Women’s Soccer League) Shield (2016) and the NWSL Championship (2017) with Portland Thorns FC and was named the League’s MVP (Most Valuable Player) in the 2018 season.     1. She did not take the usual route of playing soccer for her high school. She, instead, began playing club-level soccer after she was selected during the Under-11 trials by the Colorado Rush.
    2. During her high school sophomore year, she was named in the Parade Magazine‘s ‘High School All-American’ Team despite not playing for her high school.
    3. At the age of 15, she was selected in the Under-17 women’s national team and scored a team-best 12 goals in just 9 games in the lead up to the North American/Central American/Caribbean U-17 regional tournament in Costa Rica.
    4. She was the top-scorer for the United States at the 2010 CONCACAF (Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football) Under-17 Women’s Championship.
    5. She also led the United States to a title win at the 2012 CONCACAF Women’s U-20 Championship where she scored 4 goals in the tournament including a group-stage hat-trick.
    6. Her senior club debut came for Colorado Rush in 2012 in the now-defunct W-League where she scored 2 goals in 3 games before she accepted an offer to play with the French club Paris Saint-Germain FC (PSG).
    7. She was the first-ever female soccer player from the United States to never play for a college soccer team and make a debut straight away in a professional league when she began playing for PSG.
    8. Lindsey was utilized as a striking weapon by PSG and she paid off the faith shown in her by the team management by recording a remarkable 46 goals in just 58 appearances for the club before returning to the NWSL in 2016.
    9. Unlike PSG, Portland Thorns FC chose to use her in a central midfield position which was similar to the role she plays for the national team as well. She scored the only goal in Portland’s 1–0 win in the final of the 2017 NWSL Championship against North Carolina Courage and was consequently named the MVP of the season’s championship stage.
    10. In the 2018 season of the NWSL, she was named in the overall season’s ‘Best XI’.
    11. In July 2026, she was announced as USWNT (United States Women’s National Team) co-captain along with for the Women’s World Cup.
