- (2007-2013, 2014-2026) – He started going out with actor Charley Webb in November 2007. They have both co-starred in the television soap opera Emmerdale. He eventually proposed to her on Christmas Day in 2009. However, the duo decided to part ways in August 2013. They reconciled after a few months in April 2014 and later tied the knot in February 2018 at a ceremony held in Ripley Castle, Yorkshire. Together, they have been blessed with 3 sons, namely, Buster Lawrence Wolfenden (b. April 2010), Bowie Grey Wolfenden (b. December 2015), and Ace Gene Wolfenden (b. July 2019). - He is a former gymnast who was a member of the British gymnastics squad until the age of 16. However, he was prevented from pursuing gymnastics further after he broke his back while practicing on the rings. So, he subsequently started to pursue a career in acting.
- Matthew Wolfenden was cast as Timmy Payne in an episode titled One Hit Wonder of the television drama show The Courtroom in July 2004.
- He brought to life the character of Jason in an episode of the comedy-drama show Hollyoaks: Let Loose in October 2005. The show serves as a spin-off of the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks.
- From 2006 to 2026, Matthew Wolfenden played the role of David Metcalfe (son of Eric Pollard) in the ITV soap opera Emmerdale.
