Mohammad Nawaz is a Pakistani professional cricketer who has represented his country primarily in the limited-overs versions of the sport (ODIs and T20Is), as a bowling all-rounder. Very early in his international career, in late 2016, he had also played 3 test matches for Pakistan but had not added to that tally as of October 2026. Before breaking into the senior national team in all 3 formats in the same year (2016), he had participated in the 2012 Under-19 ICC Cricket World Cup. He had recorded a frugal spell of 4/20 in the team’s 2nd group stage match, against Scotland. In the 7th place playoff match, he had scored 82 runs in a team total of 235/8 which was overhauled by Bangladesh to hand Pakistan a disappointing 8th-place finish. In the Pakistani domestic circuit, he has played for the regional teams Rawalpindi Rams (2012–2015), Northern (2019-Present), Balochistan, Rawalpindi, and Federal Areas; as well as the departmental team National Bank of Pakistan (2014-2019) across all 3 formats.

    Mohammad Nawaz Facts

    1. His very first international match for Pakistan was a disappointing affair. In a 2016 Asia Cup fixture against the UAE, he had been smashed for 38 runs from just 3 overs. His ODI debut, in August 2016, had turned out much better. He had scored a half-century against Ireland.
    2. A month later, he had produced a ‘Player of the Match’ winning performance in the final of the 2016–17 season of the National T20 Cup (Pakistan’s premier domestic T20 competition).
    3. In his debut match for Quetta Gladiators, against Islamabad United in the 2016 edition of the PSL, he had produced a scintillating 4-over spell where he had picked up 4 wickets for just 13 runs. He had finished the tournament as the 4th-highest wicket-taker in the season. His performance in the initial phase of the PSL had resulted in a call-up to Pakistan’s 2016 ICC World Twenty20 squad.
    4. A valuable spin-bowling allrounder, he has been featured in franchise-based T20 leagues around the world, turning out for Quetta Gladiators (2016–Present) in the PSL (Pakistan Super League); Cape Town Blitz (2018–Present) in the MSL (Mzansi Super League); and Sylhet Sixers (2018-19), and Rajshahi Royals (2019-20-Present) in the BPL (Bangladesh Premier League).
