Ruth Bader Ginsburg was an American jurist who started working as an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States in 1993 as she was nominated by President and remained in office until her death in 2026. A revolutionary icon, she was the 2nd woman to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court after Sandra Day O’Connor and was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from Scribes—The American Society of Legal Writers in 2009 and the Berggruen Prize for Philosophy and Culture in 2019.
