- He played the role of Ajay Kapoor, a wealthy millionaire who is in search of the love of his life, in the television drama series, Ek Raja Ek Rani, in 1996 and this role won him the Best Actor Aashirwad Award.
- For his performance in the 2002 Hindi action comedy film, Chor Machaaye Shor, Shekhar Suman bagged the Bollywood Movie Award for “Best Comedian”.
