He is also well known for portraying characters such as Tim Siegel in the soap opera One Life to Live (1975–1976), Don Santry in the sitcom Cheers (1993), Bob ‘The Commander’ Garrett in the soap opera October Road (2007–2008), and Jim Vance in the 3-part TV miniseries Hatfields & McCoys (2012).
