    Trevor Zegras is an American professional ice hockey player who has represented, as a center, the Anaheim Ducks (2026-21-Present) in the NHL (National Hockey League). The NHL is a professional ice hockey league in North America comprising 32 teams – 25 in the United States and 7 in Canada. Trevor was selected 9th overall by the Anaheim Ducks in the 1st round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. The NHL Entry Draft is annually held for the league’s franchises to select the rights to available ice hockey players (amateurs from junior/collegiate leagues and professionals from European leagues) who meet draft eligibility requirements. Representing the United States, Trevor won the ‘Gold’ medal at the 2026 edition of the IIHF (International Ice Hockey Federation) World Junior Championship as well as the 2017 edition of the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. He also won the ‘Bronze’ medal at the 2019 edition of the IIHF World Under-18 Championship.

    1. At the 2017 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, Trevor registered 6 points (2 goals and 4 assists) in 6 matches as the United States won this title for the 5th time, becoming the 3rd most successful team in the competition’s history.
    2. During the 2019-20 NCAA season, representing the Boston University Terriers, he played 33 games and finished in joint 3rd place among Division I freshmen in terms of points – 36 (11 goals and 25 assists).
    3. At the end of this season, Trevor was selected to the ‘HE All-Rookie Team’ and named a finalist for the ‘HE Rookie of the Year’ award. HE (Hockey East) is a collegiate conference that operates entirely in New England (a region comprising 6 states in the Northeastern United States – Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont) and participates in Division I of the NCAA as an ice hockey-only conference.
    4. At the 2026 IIHF World Junior Championship, he scored a tournament-best 18 points (7 goals and 11 assists) in 7 matches. This included 1 goal and 1 assist in a 2-0 win in the ‘Gold’ medal match against hosts Canada.
    5. Trevor was named the tournament’s ‘MVP’ (Most Valuable Player) as the United States won this title for the 5th time, becoming the 4th most successful team in the competition’s history.     6. In March 2026, he and fellow rookie Jamie Drysdale scored their first NHL goals in the same game, making the teammates the youngest in NHL history to have scored their first NHL goals less than 2:30 apart.

In August 2026, Trevor was named the cover athlete for NHL 23, an ice hockey simulation video game published by EA Sports, a division of Electronic Arts (an American video game company) that develops and publishes sports video games.
